Free climbing
Mountains above Omis are very impressive for anyone entering the city, but especially for professional route climbers. The mount of Mosor has a huge potential for this sport, which is recognized not only by local climbers from clubs all over Croatia, but by international climbing professionals as well. Omis has 46 marked and graded routes, which is only a fragment of the possibilities provided by this mountain range. All these climbing routes are easy and quickly reachable and connected by the road; the nearest climbing range is only 5 minutes from Omis by car.
Special feature for climbers is a unique view from the heights overlooking the river Cetina, sea line and the town of Omis of course. Difficulty level of the routes varies from the easiest for the beginners to extremely hard over 300 m in length for professional climbers solely, with a possibility of marking and grading new unclimbed routes for the most experienced. All interested in this sport can find all the information needed at the local climbing club “Malduk”.
